The article Preventing Plagiarism by Jill Frey states many topics dealing with plagiarism. Frey divides the article into divisions which each discuss a different area of plagiarism. The first area of this article which she discusses is Why students plagiarize? She gives a brief but to the point explanation of why this occurs. Another area of the article is How can the faculty try to detect plagiarism from online sources? Withing this area we can find brief explanations of techniques used to detect plagiarism. She also explains How can an educator prevent plagiarism from happening?, and she also gives ideas on doing so.

It discusses the approval that cheating and/ or copying has gain within the last few years and the growing tolerance of society for those who choose to do so. In this article, she discusses the different types of cheating that there are and how in most cases they are being overlooked.. Lee also explains in this article the different reasons why people cheat.

The article published in The Owl of Purdue such as Avoiding Plagiarism: Best Practices for Teachers can give educators ideas on how specific policy terms should be. By being explicit and direct to the point, a student is less likely to commit plagiarism. Also by being very specific about policy terms a student may be less likely to claim that policy terms were not established or make false claims of not knowing the terms or not understanding them.
