Dear Teacher,
I come to you to beg and plead
to please, my teacher, don’t flunk me
I chose to cheat on what was assigned
because I thought that you would be blind
of what with disgrace I have done
and it is to cheat and steal which is wrong.
I have no excuse and that is the truth
but reasons I have and I’ll show you some proof.
Robert Harris has clearly stated
that reasons for cheating have been updated.
He claims we economize by choosing the shortest way,
or that we are lazy and just rather play.
He also has mentioned that we like braking rules
and that the more you condemn it, the more it is cool.
I don’t see it that way, not for all that is tall
I just know I can’t write anything at all.
Putting thought into words it’s just not my game
But I know at the end I’m the only one to blame.
So please teacher, help me to try
to stop cheating and stealing and respect copy rights

I know that you have come to me
with this enormous emotional plea.
I also read what Harris wrote
about plagiarism not being a joke.
Since I know that your heart is true
I’ll tell you what I’m planning to do.
I’ll explain to the class what plagiarism means
and let you know that your writing must be clean
of words that have owners or ideas with names
or claiming a result that has already been claimed
You must quote and cite as much as it’s needed
and remember this is the way true writers have succeeded.
I’ll make my assignments unique as no one’s are
instead of traditional, I’ll make them bazaar.
I’ll use certain readings that have been selected
We’ll work on your writing and have it corrected.
It will be an on going process, you will not be alone
in order to complete a paper you can call your own.
I hope with these tips I have not made you snore,
but now I think that I can help you much more.
